Within the framework of a now completed FFG project on the topic of 'Fatigue life prediction for elastomers', we have gained some exciting insights. After more than two years and more than 200 million load cycles with a maximum test frequency of 2 Hz, we see a knee point of the Wöhler line for elastomer materials as it is also described for metallic materials! The long-term tests require a test time of almost 4 months per sample. These tests were carried out under nominal stress control (!).
